Gas Cooker installation
Quality Service Guaranteed
Gas supply requirements (for gas cooker / hob / dual fuel)
For us to complete your installation safely and in line with Gas Safe rules, the following must already be in place:
-
✅ A gas supply point at the correct location for the cooker/hob
-
✅ An accessible isolation valve (shut-off tap) for the appliance, close to where it will be installed Fix Cookers+1
-
✅ Pipework in good condition and sized appropriately for the appliance (your Gas Safe engineer can confirm this)
-
✅ Adequate ventilation and clearances as per the manufacturer’s instructions (for example, distance from wall units, extractors and combustible materials) Which?
Then your disclaimer:
🔒 We do not move or extend gas pipework
We only connect to an existing, suitable gas point. We don’t:
Run new gas pipework
Move gas meters
Chase pipes into walls or carry out building alterations
Any changes to your gas supply must be completed in advance by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
And one strong legal line:
In the UK, only a Gas Safe registered engineer can legally install or alter gas appliances and pipework. Gas work must comply with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.
🔒 We do not carry out electrical installation work
We don’t:
-
Install new circuits or upgrade your consumer unit
-
Move sockets or cooker switches
-
Correct undersized cables or incorrect fusing
If your wiring isn’t suitable, we’ll have to abort the installation and may charge a failed visit fee. Please speak to a qualified electrician before booking if you’re unsure.
How your installation visit works
Short step-by-step:
-
Arrival & safety checks – We confirm the supply has been isolated and visually check the existing wiring/connection point.
-
Disconnection – We disconnect your old cooker (where safe and suitable).
-
Connection & positioning – We connect your new cooker to the existing point and level it in place.
-
Testing – We perform a basic function check (power on and heating) following the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
Handover – We show you the isolator, how to safely turn the appliance off, and answer basic questions.
Section: Safety & legal
All electrical work must comply with UK wiring regulations and Building Regulations (including Part P). Any changes to your wiring, consumer unit or new circuits must be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician. We only connect to existing, suitable supply points and will not proceed if we believe the installation is unsafe.

When to Call a Professional
While many maintenance tasks are manageable, some repairs are best left to professionals. Consider calling for help if you encounter:
-
Frequent Electrical Issues: Persistent electrical problems could indicate a more complex issue needing experts.
-
Ongoing Cooking Issues: If troubleshooting has not improved performance, a technician can provide targeted solutions.
1. Safety First
Ensure safety before any repair work. Disconnect the appliance from the power source to avoid electric shock or further damage. Wear protective gear as necessary, and adhere to safety guidelines in the user manual.
Storage and Usage Tips
Your electric cooker’s usage and storage significantly affect its maintenance. Keep these tips in mind:
1. Using Compatible Cookware
Utilise cookware designed for electric cookers to improve performance. Avoid using mismatched or damaged containers, which can lead to uneven heating or further damage.
2. Proper Storage
If you're not using your cooker for an extended time, clean it thoroughly and store it in a dry place. Moisture can lead to corrosion, reducing its lifespan.
